I originally wrote this post before the COVID-19 pandemic really started affecting us here in Maryland. I think the message of this post is even more applicable than it was a month ago. Stick with me and I’ll try to convince you!
I have an agenda with this post! The “A” family asked me to photograph their family in the fall and I was so happy to do so. The best part - in my mind - was that they wanted the photos to be taken in their own backyard! Obviously, their yard is gorgeous and it worked out perfectly with the fall foliage. I just love the idea that it doesn’t really matter where you take the photos, but that the location means something to you. I love that this family will look at these photos down the road and be able to compare their kids growing against the growth of their own trees. Maybe I’m a sap (pun intended), but I think that makes the photos that much more special. Another favorite part about this session was learning that this family PRINTS THEIR PHOTOS! They had a whole gallery wall of black-and-white photos that spoke to my photographer heart. Please enjoy these favorites and for your next session, why not consider a shoot in your own neighborhood? :)
After being homebound for months, a photo session at your own home once the restrictions are lifted sounds like a perfect way to commemorate this extra time spent with family. Yes - we’re all itching to get out and go places and do things - but I hope that all of us with roofs over our heads appreciate our homes more than ever. Whether or not I’ve convinced you to have a session at home, I can’t wait to see all your faces again. Sending positive vibes your way!
