I couldn’t have asked for a better day.
It had been SO cold in the two weeks prior and I desperately wanted to create something just for fun. I remembered that my mom still had her wedding dress, which was first worn in 1975 and gorgeous! I started fantasizing about a shoot to let the dress shine and in those two weeks I enlisted a venue, models, a makeup artist, florist, and baker to help me bring this vision to life.
Let me tell you about this venue. The farmhouse is absolutely stunning, with nearly floor to ceiling windows everywhere. It is a dream for natural light. My new friends Angie and Amy continue to work tirelessly to enhance this unique property into a destination to experience collective joy. And they have axe-throwing that can be included in your event!!
My lovely models for the day were my sister-in-law and her fiancé, who are gearing up for their own wedding in August. I joked about this being a really weird engagement session for them - but seriously, they killed it. They were troopers and let me do my thing, which included me thinking I was done about 3 times only to spot *one more* area to shoot :)
I am so grateful to know so many talented folks and have the privilege of calling them friends! It’s a lot of work putting together a styled shoot, but I think the images speak for themselves! Here are my favorite images from the day and links to all my amazing helpers so you can check them out too.
